Our team of experienced coaches is dedicated to developing skills, building confidence, and inspiring a love for the game in players of all ages and levels throughout San Jose and the Bay Area.

Meet the coaches

Jack Calas-Hathaway - Goalkeeper Coach

(volunteer)

Jack has played from the age of 6 for local kids teams to youth teams, moving onto semi-professional and professional academy in the UK.

Jack played at collegiate level from 2021 to 2024, at West Valley College, and at Foothill College.

Certifications - UEFA C-Licence includes:

  • safeguarding - creating a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for children and young people, protecting them from harm, abuse, and neglect, and fulfilling a coach's responsibility to their welfare
  • first aid - which covers player recognition, emergency management, CPR, and concussion protocols

Jeff Serrano - Goalkeeper Coach

My name is Jeffrey Serrano, and I am excited to join the academy as your new goalkeeper coach. I want to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about my background.

I am a goalkeeper myself and have been playing at the collegiate level since 2021, starting at De Anza College and currently playing at Foothill College through 2025. Additionally, I have semi-professional experience, having played for Jaguars FC in Salinas in the UPSL for two years.

Before joining the academy, I spent 3+ years coaching at the high school level and working with goalkeepers at Legends FC NorCal. I’ve also had the opportunity to coach a women’s futsal team with HBK Futsal and a U19 men’s team that made it to nationals. Proud to be a US Futsal Coach Winner for 2025 and always pushing to grow the game.

Tony Moran - Striker Development & Player Performance Coach

With over 10 years of playing experience and more than 3 years of coaching under his belt, Coach Tony brings both passion and expertise to every session.

He currently plays competitively for SV Rush and specializes in striker development, technical improvement, and game IQ.

His coaching style is energetic, focused, and player-driven, always aiming to bring the best out of each athlete.

Whether you’re new to the game or looking to level up your performance, Coach Tony delivers training that pushes you forward with purpose.

Erick Turcios - Position Coach (midfield/striker)

I currently play in the UPSL for Silicon Valley. I’ve played for Sunnyvale Alliance and MVLA.

I’ve also been coaching for the past 2 years, helping younger players grow and develop their game.
